Tulpar is a voice-first chat app for talking to an AI coding assistant. This page explains what the app stores, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted.
Signing up requires an email address and a password. The password is never stored in readable form — only a salted PBKDF2 hash. We do not offer or require sign-in with Apple, Google, or any other third party.
What you say and what the assistant replies — text and voice transcripts — is stored on our server so your chat history persists across sessions. It is stored per-account: only your own login can read your own chats, projects, and instructions. It is kept until you delete a chat, delete your account, or ask us to remove it.
If you bring your own API key (BYOK), or if you use the hosted plan, your key (yours, or a spend-capped one minted for you) is encrypted at rest on our server, outside the normal application code path. It is never written to logs, never included in exported conversation history, and never sent back to your device in readable form.
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the web, outside the app (Apple Pay supported). We do not receive or store your card number — Stripe collects and holds that directly. Our server only receives confirmation that a payment succeeded, which it uses to unlock your account's paid features.
When the assistant runs commands or edits files on your behalf, that work happens in a sandboxed environment isolated to your account — other customers' data and commands are not reachable from it, and it cannot reach the host machine outside your own project files.
Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your account, all of your conversations, your stored keys, and any spend-capped key minted on your behalf. This cannot be undone. You can also delete an individual chat at any time without deleting the whole account.
Tulpar talks to an unfiltered general-purpose AI model and is rated for mature audiences. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
